Samsung Goes For The Throat In Their Latest Commercial

September 20, 2012 by Aidan Bradley in Technology with 13 Comments

The battle of Samsung and Apple rages on. In their latest commercial, Samsung doesn’t pull any punches when illustrating just how far behind the brand new iPhone is compared to the (not so new) Samsung/Android combo. Which is rather ironic considering its coming off the foot of Samsung being ordered to pay 1.05 Billion to Apple for patent infringements.

Here is the new video below, let us know what you think in the comments below.

I saw this video a few hours ago, while I shared a break from work. I like when companies take the competition seriously and use this type of marketing strategies. I don’t know the place of irony in marketing campaigns, but it´s undoubtedly a valuable tool if is properly used. Samsung won’t forgive this misstep in the courts. I think it will become the Nemesis of Apple, at least for a while. Meanwhile, we the consumers will have fun. This translates into publicity key the disappointment of many consumers from the launch of the new Apple´s phone.

Now the war has become nasty! What’s funny and amusing is that the people in the line somehow resemble Occupy activists, especially the guy with the glasses.

The people with white headphones are made out to be like zombies, well, Apple zombie fanboys/fangirls in this case.

Samsung is presenting itself as the true option for that target audience with lower priced smartphones and tablets.

It’s clever – pointing out their features and how it is better than the iPhone without being over the top ‘aren’t we better’ (sort of in the style of apple vs pc ads).

I generally don’t like ads that criticise competitors but this isn’t just criticising and does list Samsung’s features.

As someone without a smart phone, I also found it interesting to see the iPhone isn’t everything :)

Could make some Apple customers unhappy though, lol!

I love Samsung’s new commercial. Hopefully it gets Apple fans to realize how stupid they are for falling for Apple’s marketing techniques. Their ad is probably the most enjoyable one on YouTube at the moment.

It doesn’t exactly look good in terms of their credibility. Being convicted to pay big money for patent infringement and then lashing out at your competitor doesn’t sound professional.

Better come up with something innovative of your own, without copying.

I’m an iPhone user, but not a fanboy :) I think there’s too much attention going to all those legal fights. Let’s just ban them from our screen and put some real news up.

With the competition between Samsung and Apple intensifies, we could just hope that this will be significantly beneficial to consumers. After all, stronger competition leads to more choices and lowered prices.

I love it. I have grown very fond of the term “iTard”, and this illustrates why perfectly for me. Going to spam the vid into FB and Twitter now. They should have mentioned the iRattle somewhere in there xD

I thought this video was very smart marketing. It’s funny and not too biting — sort of like the “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” videos Apple came out with. Funny even if you were on the wrong side of the joke.

They definitely did. And they are shoving this commercial down people’s throats. They bought up so much commercial time.

I think Samsung did a great job with this commercial. It was creative and despite some other people’s sensitivities, I didn’t find it the least bit insulting. In fact, I found it quite humorous the way they portrayed Mac fans. It’s not like Apple hasn’t done the same, if not worse in their advertisements. Also, did anyone notice how they never once mentioned Apple by name? Very nice, indeed.

I can’t stand Iphone. Team Anything Else all the way. But I’m about to get the new Galaxy as part of a plan. It’s time to upgrade.

Wow! That is gutsy! Although, without a proper context, it would take a while before the viewer will get what is going on. It might not also be able to hold the viewers attention for long. I am an Iphone user, but Samsung has always been Apple’s competitor whenever I am thinking of buying a new phone ever since they released Omnia.

I’ve seen this commercial dozens of times, and I picked up on several messages in it. The funniest thing about this commerical is that a young modern person is waiting in line for the latest big Apple phone release… but REALLY ONLY standing in line to hold the place for their old fogey parents. LMAO. Get with it people.

Aside from funny messages, I didn’t see anything that proved the next big thing is ALREADY here. They didnt really prove that point very well, imho. :)

People use to have to worry about phone calls from scammers, and perhaps the unethical contractor, but today’s big worries come from the things that can show up online in a person’s email inbox. Those phone scammers are still around, but most of these types have turned to the Internet to find victims. Apparently, there are a lot of people out there that are easily taken by Internet fraud, and you don’t want to be one of them.^-., http://www.caramoanpackage.com
