Print Marketing: Is It Still Effective In Today’s Generation?
Print Marketing is it still of good use in today’s generation? Maybe, if you are a budding entrepreneur who had been busy doing online marketing to advertise your product or service, you might be skeptical in using this kind of promotion.
Let me give you some of the wonderful benefits that print marketing can deliver to your start-up business. With proper usage, this traditional marketing tool when combined with the advancement of digital technology could bring tremendous positive results and client’s response.
1. Enhance company’s image
No matter how innovative and tech savvy our world has been, successful business owners still make use of print marketing in the form of business cards, brochures and leaflets to promote their business and let their busy clients feel that they do exist. It has been proven for many generations that printout materials still work to capture a client’s attention even for a short span of time. When done by experts in printing or publishing, printed ads can increase awareness and enhance a company’s image, since you have a solid proof that your business is for real that they can give a fair try.
2. Good source to connect with potential clients
Most of us still try their best to find time for relaxation even with their busy schedules like going to malls, dining out or simply taking a stroll at the park. This is the best opportunity to hand out brochures, leaflets and other promotional flyers to advertise your business and connect with your potential clients about what you can offer to them.
3. Encourage a call for action on the part of the client
Giving out promotional menus to passersby to announce your restaurant’s hot deals for the day for lunch or dinner will encourage a call for action to anyone who receives that printed advertisement. He/she will be tempted to try out whatever is being offered with discount at your restaurant. It is vital that you make yourself visible and competitive among your rivals.
4. Budget-friendly
Unknown to most promoters, there are numerous printing companies who offer affordable packages for your intended printed materials. Conduct surveys and compare prices before you finalize your orders for your campaign printed materials. Don’t hesitate to ask for discounts, especially if you will do business with their printing company for a length period of time. Let your bargaining power do the wonders.
Trying out different marketing tools for your business can help you reach your business goals easily. Why not give your upcoming promotional campaign a new look with colorful and catchy printed materials like flyers, business cards, brochures and a lot more. You might eventually realize that when used effectively with the right target consumers, print marketing can do amazing results to your business. Grab all the opportunities where you can be seen, be felt and stir a quick response on the receiver of your printed materials. If print marketing has worked with others, then it has a good percentage that it will work for your advantage in the long run. Be open to all possibilities and don’t be afraid to try out new techniques all the time.

I agree with you that it should not be ignored and one can get really competitive prices when you look. When my brother opened a designer clothing store, he used a combination of online and offline avenues of marketing and they seemed to compliment each other perfectly.
Also, once I saw someone’s website printed on their mini convertible…the car was black and the site was printed in deep red – and it drew my attention.
So, all forms of marketing should be looked at and one can take it from there possibly.
Good share. Thanks.

I have used both printing and online techniques with my multimedia business. I find that printing a flyer or business card and handing it out establishes that personal in person connection with your prospects. Once your customers are comfortable with you as a person, the print out becomes something that they can use to remember you, when the computer is not necessarily in front of them.

I agree, print media is still a useful form of advertising. I think it’s because people feel safer when they see a credible-looking print ad of something.
With the hundreds or thousands of scams on the internet, I think a print ad just makes the company seem more credible.

Of course yes it is effective especially here in africa. In rural africa internet connectivity is somehow low,so people prefer posters, flyers and billboards as a way of marketing their stuff. In major urban towns in africa like Nairobi people have become more sophisticated and are using business cards, brochures etc

As times change, advertising and marketing tools also have to change. If not, they’ll definitely lose it’s effectiveness. I don’t think print media is totally dead. I do think, however, that is losing its power, especially with the younger generation.

Print media/advertising is still alive! As a company nowadays, you have to do a balanced mix of both traditional and digital advertising to get you noticed. I still regularly receive flyers in my mailbox and at my front steps. They’re mostly for restaurants that are within 20km of my house. I’d say they’re 50% effective of the time since I only go to those with coupons.

Print Media Advertising is definitely still a necessity. Although the average user does stay in front of the computer for a greater portion of the day, they are also still going out and about to do their business. Having handy coupons, cards, and etc. can help spread your message and get some easy marketing done!

Of course printed materials are still important – otherwise there wouldn’t be so many newspapers and maagzines on sale for one thing!
Printed materials are particualrly important if yoru audience prefers them to online methods – not evryone is into social media for example.
There are also very useful when meeting people physically liek at a networking event or conference. And for certain calls of action – making a flyer a form means people can fill in details on the spot – papoer is very effective.

Print marketing is not as glamorous as internet marketing, but can be just as effective. I still use post card marketing for some of my campaigns, and have found that this diversity in marketing platforms, allows me to reach potential customers that I would have otherwise miss; if I had of focused on internet marketing solely.

Print advertising is still alive and well as far as I am concerned. It’s like this, some people living in today’s world know how to spell only with a computer in front of them:) The situation is not that grave for others. I respond to print more than outdoor stuff.

Picking up from where I left off, print reaches a lot more people who may not be interested in internet ads. There are a lot of people, could be in the older generation or people who don’t like technology.

Print marketing is definitely still popular because people still think print magazines and newspapers are more credible. As for me I most likely will look at an advertisement of a sport gear i my favorite sports magazine and feel compelled to buy the item because I am a loyal reader of that magazine and I also believe it is credible.

I agree that it can be an effective means of marketing if done correctly. Currently there are many companies out there that are wasting there time and money on ineffective means of print marketing that leave them telling all their friends how it is a waste of money and should be avoided at all cost.

I think there’s a small ROI in print marketing. With print marketing, you spend a lot but its reach will be limited. Companies who want to be cost-efficient in their marketing initiatives should start shifting to digital marketing.

Print advertising still works on me, especially for food like pizza and chinese food. I still use the internet to order online, if they have a website. At this point in time only a minority of internet users regularly buy stuff online so print advertising is an effective way to reach the widest possible audience. By the way, I know of some online marketers that are successfully building their network marketing businesses sending out postcards in bulk.

Print advertising is still valuable, especially as a means to create or maintain visibility among local competitors which can be more of a challenge online. Print media is a great way to target local people, the internet is of course an international entity and as such means it can be very difficult to pin down potential custom even with sites geared up towards specific localities or fields.
I think the key with printed media is to ensure it’s carefully targeted such as handing out flyers to potential passing trade. Also, using print in tandem with an online presence, such as leaflets pointing to exclusively online coupons/deals or encouraging subscription to email newsletters etc. is an effective and cheap way to create online awareness in the local area, and in doing so also markets the business and its website, both invaluable for enabling a business to remain competitive in the longer term.

I’d say that it is. Just look at all these flyers that political candidates send out. So much money is being spent on them.
